Governor Phil Scott has ordered mandatory ‘school safety site assessments’. It’s an effort to ensure a comprehensive approach to reducing the risk of school violence statewide. The assessments will gather the most recent data on current school emergency preparedness planning, training, policies, security systems and school safety practices that are being used in Vermont schools.
