Fall is a perfect time to start a compost pile! Join the Addison County Solid Waste Management District for a free Backyard Composting Workshop to learn how to turn your household food waste into compost. Composting food scraps will allow you to save money on your trash bill, reduce your carbon footprint and impact on the environment, build healthy soil for your yard and garden, and comply with Vermont’s Universal Recycling Law. The law effectively bans food scraps from the landfill in July 2020 so it’s a great way to get ahead of the curve. Workshop participants will also receive a discount on a SoilSaver compost bin. Space is limited so make sure you pre-register for this fantastic demonstration! To register go to addisoncountyrecycles.org/food-scraps/composting/workshops and for additional questions call ACSWMD at 802.388.2333 or email email@example.com. This is an ACSWMD sponsored event.
