Community Read & Discussion w/ Conservation Commission

April 20, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Did you know that there are whole colonies of ants so small they can live in acorns? That oak leaf litter purifies groundwater? Or that in our area, oak trees support 401 species of butterflies and moths?

The New Haven Conservation Commission and the Library invite you to join a community discussion of Douglas Tallamy’s book The Nature of Oaks. A page-turner, Tallamy’s latest work is full of fascinating information about the oak species, birds, insects, and practical how-to advice on planting oak trees–one of the best things we can do for our planet.

Copies of the book are available at New Haven Community Library patrons for checkout.

To register for the program, please call the library at (802) 453-4015 or email us at librarian@nhcl.org.
