Educational seminar “How will changes in employment laws affect your business?” in Middlebury.

November 16, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am

Educational seminar “How will changes in employment laws affect your business?” in Middlebury, at the Ilsley Library, Wednesday November 16th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.

There are several changes and updates to both federal and state employment regulations going into effect December 1st and January 1st. Do you know how they will affect your business? Size of business doesn’t matter–one employee or 100.

Attorneys from Langrock Sperry & Wool, LLP will provide information on forthcoming updates to both federal and state employment laws such as:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)—Updates go into effect December 1st
  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)—New guidelines/regulations
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)—New guidelines/regulations
  • Vermont’s Paid Sick Leave Law—Updates go into effect January 1st
  • Misclassification of Employees—Efforts by VT Department of Labor and insurance companies to crack down on the misclassification of employees

This educational seminar is being hosted by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce and our presenters are Wanda Otero-Weaver, Esq. and Michele B. Patton, Esq.
