Chicken BBQ Supper

The New Haven Volunteer Fire Department is holding one of their popular “Chicken BBQ Suppers”, this Saturday, September 26th. This month’s event is takeout only, and all the funds raised will go to the department. Meals are $12 each, and can be picked up starting at 5 pm at the Town Hall on North Street until all the meals are gone. Preorders are being accepted at NewHavenFireDepartment.org. StreetFest

StreetFest has been re-scheduled for September 26 and will take place all over the Downtown Ticonderoga area from from 10 am to 3 pm. StreetFest is a day celebration that is a must do event each year in the Ticonderoga Area with sidewalk sales, shopping, variety of food, live entertainment all day, arts & crafts, kid’s activities, and much more. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

The Middlebury Farmers’ Market (MFM) is a year long Market with over 50 registered members. The Market normally operates as an inside market from November – April and offers an outdoor season from May – October. Nearly two-thirds of the vendors sell local agricultural products including vegetables, fruits, plants, flowers, and CBD.  MFM vendors offer an abundance of produce, meats, eggs, and goat’s and cow’s milk cheeses. Outdoor Movie – “Men In Black”

Grief & Loss Support Group

Addison County Home Health and Hospice in New Haven is putting together and hosting a weekly grief and loss support group for the community.  The program is designed to help indiviuals through their grief and empower them to move forward.  The next meeting is this Wednesday, September 23, at 6 pm, at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society, on Duane Court in Middlebury.  It’s free, and all are welcome.  For more information, and to register, call Dorothea at 388-7259.

Chimney Point Atlatl Competition

25th annual Northeastern Open Atlatl Championship. Modified event. Competitors and visitors must call to pre-register: 802-759-2412 Event testing skills in accuracy and distance, using an atlatl–a spear thrower used around the world before the bow and arrow. Participate or watch. Archaeologist Charles Paquin demonstrates ancient skills, including making Woodland pottery. Starts at 10:30 am. Competitors–$7; visitors $5 (inc. museum admission).
