BENNINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say one of two suspects implicated in a shooting and assault in Shaftsbury last October has turned himself in.
Police say Mohamed Hamdi, 32, and Matthew Osei, 29, both from New Jersey, entered a home on Twitchell Hill Road and forced the two occupants into the basement, where they assaulted two of them. Authorities say one was shot by Osei while trying to flee.
Hamdi was arrested by U.S. Marshals in January in New Jersey.
Police say Osei turned himself in on Friday and was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault. He is being held without bail.
