ENFIELD, N.H. (WCAX) – Public access to Mascoma Lake in Enfield, New Hampshire, is improving.
Work crews are in the process of building out parking spaces and stormwater management at Mascoma Lakeside Park.
Officials say there will be more than two dozen parking spots as well as handicapped access trails.
With help from residents, the town recently purchased the land with the sole intention of making it open to the public.
“It is right off the Northern Rail Trail. It’s a place for people to come enjoy an afternoon at the lake. There are picnic tables, a trail is going to be made next month, and it’s just a really beautiful place to spend some time and access the lake,” said Enfield Town Manager Ed Morris.
A fundraising campaign is still underway to raise the $250,000 needed for this phase of the project.
