HANOVER, N.H. (WCAX) – A new top cop will soon be on the job in Hanover, New Hampshire.
James Martin starts as police chief later this month.
He has been second in command at the Hanover Police Department and brings more than 25 years of law enforcement experience to the job.
Before joining the police in Hanover, Martin was a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, deploying to the Sandy Hook School shooting and the Boston Marathon bombing.
Martin has served as acting chief of the department after former Chief Charlie Dennis retired at the end of 2024.
