RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – Music and art returned to Rutland for another year of fun.
The state’s longest continually running arts tradition, “Art in the Park” was back this weekend in the city’s main street park.
The Chaffee Art Center across the street helps create the show as its largest fundraiser. Local creators show off their work, such as paintings, crafts and food. The park’s gazebo just finished up a round of repairs and organizers say it made for a slight change to the overall feel of the festival.
“So it’s always interesting when I come over, it was a little different but beautiful I mean the gazebo is beautiful the music is so different now uh you know that they’re lower toward the ground you can kind of see them and you can hear them everywhere in the park,“ said Sherri Birkheimer Rooker, Chaffee Art Center Director, “it’s beautiful here and people come from all over to come to art in the park.”
The festival continues Sunday from 10-4 and will also return for its Fall edition in October.
