BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The last leg of the highway from Montreal to the US border is now ready for drivers.
Leaders in Quebec officially announced the opening of the last chunk of Autoroute 35.
Phase 3 connects St. Sebastien to St. Armand.
Drivers will see four separate lanes spanning about 5.5 Miles, though it won’t quite get you to the border.
Back in March, we reported that the final leg of the project, which runs from St. Armand to the border, was scrapped from Quebec’s budget.
That portion was set to be just under 3 miles.
A spokesperson back in March told us the cash will instead go to transportation priorities, since the existing road there is the same width as the highway already.
