BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington jury has handed down a not guilty verdict in a 2023 Burlington attempted murder case.
Authorities say Tovi Mesick had been temporarily staying with Stephen Furtado and his wife in their Salmon Run apartment when, on February 5th, Mesick and Furtado got into an argument after Furtado demanded that Mesick leave.
Mesick claimed self-defense in the shooting of Furtado.
After a four-day trial, the jury late Friday acquitted Mesick on the charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
