WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Vermont man is facing several charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer in Williston.
Police say Luke Shalen, 44, violated a trespassing order on Thursday by entering the Sandri gas station on St. George Road.
Williston Police officers found Shalen a short time later at Maple Tree Place, where they say he punched an officer in the face multiple times, tried to take their gun, and also tried to reach for a knife.
Shalen pleaded not guilty to several charges, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
He is being held without bail.
