New restaurant and bar caters to mountain bikers

WOODSTOCK, Vt. (WCAX) – A new bar for mountain bikers opens in Woodstock.

The Ranch Camp recently opened on Route 4 just outside downtown Woodstock in an old bank.

Along with a restaurant and full bar, the business also caters to the biking crowd with a bike shop in the basement.

The facility has a full bike repair station and offers demos for people to try out the bikes.

The owners say they are capitalizing on the growing biking community across the region, while adding a new spot in town to hang out.

“My wife and I moved here about two years ago and just saw a real void in the community. There are a lot of restaurants and food services here, but nothing that is consistently open seven days a week. There’s an amazing mountain bike trail network here and amazing mountain bike stewardship,” said Nathan Freund.

For the last several years, the Woodstock Area Mountain Bike Association – or Wamba – has been building out a trail network in the area.

The owners of the Ranch Camp also have a location in Stowe.
