Burton and Red Bull host film premiere in Burlington

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burton and Red Bull debuted the world premiere of their latest snowboard film in Burlington.

It’s been two years in the making, and it all led up to this Friday night world premiere before the real world premiere in New York.

“It’s so special to do the first screening in Burlington, Vermont, because it’s the backyard of Burton,” said Hailey Ronconi of Burton.

The film was shot in Japan, Alaska, and British Columbia. It stars Olympic athletes and pro-snowboarders brave enough to evade self-induced avalanches and launch their bodies into all sorts of uncertain air.

Brock Crouch has been sponsored by Burton since he was 8 years old. He’s won major competitions across the world, but he was hanging out in Burlington Friday night.

“It’s a big week in Burlington for everybody. We’re doing it here and then getting to go to New York next week to show the video, so it should be awesome. [I’m] nervous to see it right now; that’s for sure,” said Crouch.

Burton is continuing their long-standing tradition of snowboard filmmaking by teaming up with Red Bull to give their shared athletes a shot at the stage.

“Being in co-production with Red Bull really gave us the opportunity to give the resources to the riders to do what they love and showcase what they love in the best way possible. I think that’s what makes it special,” said Ronconi.

You can stream the film on November 7th on Red Bull TV.
