RUTLAND COUNTY, Vt. (WCAX) – While it might not be time to think about snow, some down in Rutland County are gearing up for the upcoming ski season.
Pico Ski Club held its annual ski and gear swap this weekend, helping to connect those waiting for the first snow with a piece of new or used equipment.
Everything from jackets and gloves to boots, boards and poles could be found.
Club members hope it can draw more skiers and riders to the mountain during the winter season, as they say say they get a wide range of visitors each year.
“We have held the swap the first weekend in October for 20 years, and it draws people from all over New England. So we have people from Massachusetts that come up just for this, and New York as well, but all over Rutland County and Chittenden County people are coming to the ski swap,” Jennifer Pew, Pico Ski Club President said.
The swap runs through Sunday at noon.
Organizers say many items are 30 percent off Sunday.
