RUTLAND COUNTY, Vt. (WCAX) – The Rutland County Parent Child Center held its first-ever create-a-car kit event, part of its 24/7 Dad Group programming.
The group says the goal is to help fathers and male caregivers bond with their families.
Kids and dads created and decorated wooden cars and then raced them.
“From our Pleasant Street Market to 24/7 dad to CIS program, to many other programs that we have, Father’s Group is important just because we want the father to feel empowered, a father too to know what to do to engage within their family,” Bodie Barton, Rutland County Parent Child Center said.
RCPCC says it hopes to make the event an annual thing for families to look forward to.
