Man arrested after reportedly stealing from City Market, threatening to stab someone

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police in Burlington arrest a man after he threatened to stab someone.

Just after 8:30 Friday night, Burlington Police were called to City Market on South Winooski Ave for a report of a suspect who had been stealing from the store.

The suspect reportedly pulled a knife on the caller — and threatened to stab them.

A short time later, police spotted him across the street.

After refusing commands to surrender and running away — police eventually caught him.

He was identified as 34-year-old Ezra Dillon, who’s been arrested for similar incidents in the Burlington area before.

Dillon faces a slew of charges, and is being held at Northwest Correctional Facility on 5-thousand dollars bail.
