KILLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Local business officials cut the ribbon Friday morning on a new Killington welcome sign made entirely from old skis
The Welcome Center sign on Route 4 is directly across from the access road to the mountain.
A $15,000 donation paid for the sign, and a local excavating business donated its time to install it.
“Every single ski that is on that photo spot has skied that mountain. And there are a lot of skis that are actually in memory of people who have passed who were a big part of this community,” said Beth Sarandrea of the Killington Pico Area Association.
The sign is also being dedicated to former Killington Town Manager David Atherton, who died last month due to health complications.
