Fourth annual nonfiction comic book festival draws hundreds to Fletcher Free Library

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Comic lovers of all ages gathered at the fourth annual Non-Fiction Comic Book Festival today in Burlington. Hundreds of people packed the Fletcher Free Library for comic book fun.

Artists displayed their work on tables. Visitors browsed, asked questions and bought various products and comics.

The festival features artists of all ages and experience levels. Panels were held on various comic-related advice and issues. Many traveled from far away to showcase comics with meaningful messages.

“I think comics can really help break ideas down into more chewable digestible pieces for people. It’s easy for people to understand a comic I think,” said Eleri Harris, a cartoonist.

Many artists said how special this festival was because of its focus on nonfiction pieces.
