MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – The Otter Creek Child Center cut the ribbon on its seven-year expansion project, significantly increasing childcare options for local families.
The facility used to be a four-classroom farmhouse but with the expansion can now fit over a dozen classrooms. Organizers say the expansion will increase enrollment by around 100 spots for Addison County children and families.
“It’s going to be a game changer for a lot of families and for our community so we currently are in two facilities running eight classrooms when we move in December first we’ll add about 12 spots, children’s spots, and then in January we’ll open two new infant rooms and a toddler room,” said Linda January of Otter Creek Child Center.
January also said they can open up more classrooms for students starting in the next school year.
