PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Authorities have announced the cause of death for an inmate at the Clinton County Jail.
Margo Diaz, 46, was found unresponsive in her cell on Friday.
The medical examiner on Tuesday said Diaz died of bacterial endocarditis, a serious infection of parts of the heart.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office says Sheriff Dave Favro met with the family Tuesday morning.
An investigation into the death of Diaz is still underway by the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
