RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – Rutland City Public Schools will host its fourth annual Community Resource Fair and Coffeehouse on Wednesday night.
The annual gathering aims to remove barriers for families and students to access resources throughout the county.
It allows families to meet with over 30 local organizations and find support varying from education, job training, child care, and health care.
Organizers say ensuring students’ basic needs are met is key. “The more secure a student’s life is in general, whether it’s housing or health care, food, nutrition, social connections, the more likely they are to attend school on a regular basis, the more likely they are to attend to the work we are assigning and to learn,” said Chris Van Sciver with the Rutland City Public Schools.
The fair will be held at the Rutland Middle School from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
