Beta Technologies board member appears in newly released Epstein files

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A New Hampshire inventor and Beta Technologies board member appeared in newly released Jeffrey Epstein files.

According to the website for Beta, an aerospace company based in South Burlington, Dean Kamen holds more than 1,000 patents, many for medical devices. He also founded FIRST, an organization that helps spur youth interest in STEM.

Newly released files show Kamen interacted multiple times with Epstein, appearing in email exchanges with the convicted sex offender.

A 2013 email released by the Department of Justice shows Kamen emailing Jeffrey Epstein, “Let me thank you for hosting an incredible visit to a magical place.”

Beta Technologies said Kamen voluntarily recused himself from all board activity on Wednesday.

In a statement, the company said it will conduct an independent review of the newly released DOJ documents. “BETA treats these matters with utmost seriousness and has retained an independent, external law firm to promptly conduct the review.”

And they said that Kamen will readily cooperate fully with that review.
