SHELBURNE, Vt. (WCAX) – Palmer’s Sugarhouse in Shelburne hosted its first pancake breakfast of the year Saturday, marking the start of maple syrup season.
The sugarhouse hosts pancake breakfasts every Saturday and Sunday through April 18. Palmer’s is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the pancake breakfast served until 1 p.m.
The event is an annual tradition that draws families and groups of all ages. The menu includes pancakes, maple hot dogs, donuts and maple products. Large crowds attended Saturday despite windy weather, with live music also on offer.
Visitors came from out of state as well. Nick Gutowski of Chicago was among those attending.
“Being not from Vermont this is exactly what I picture when I picture Vermont,” Gutowski said. “You know it’s very family oriented, maple syrup, good people, we’re listening to good music, like this is what I came for.”
