BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – It’s feeling like spring, here’s what to do today.
Support female artists at the Women’s Festival of Crafts in Essex Junction. There will be over 40 artists featured, with unique offerings to choose from. The festival is free to attend, and starts at 10 a.m. this morning, ending at 3 p.m. It’s at the Farmhouse at the Essex Resort, so if you need a bite to eat stop at the Lazy Goat Tavern or treat yourself to a spa day at the Inn.
At the annual “Pig Race” you don’t actually get to race with a pig, instead it’s a ski race where the big prize is a fire roasted pig feast. The races are on ungroomed trails, with both adult and kid races available. Tickets include food, and cost around $40 for an adult, with the lowest price kid race being around $15. Day of registration opens at 10 a.m. today, with the race starting at 11 a.m. It’s all happening at the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center in Goshen.
And set sail for a production of “Anything Goes,” Cole Porter’s classic Broadway musical about romance on a 1930s cruise. Very Merry Theatre is putting on the production at the Old North End Community Center in Burlington. The famous songs will be performed by local teens in 10th through 12th grade. It’s free, and the matinee show starts at 4 p.m.
