COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) – Colchester Fire Department posted information and photos from the scene of a collision Sunday morning.
Officials say they responded at 9:44 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash severed a utility pole at its base on Colchester Point Road, causing utility damage to multiple nearby homes.
The occupant was out of the vehicle before first responders arrived. No information has been released at this time regarding the driver’s identity or if there were any injuries.
The utility pole was completely severed at the base as a result of the collision. Multiple nearby residences sustained utility-related damage from wires being pulled from the homes.
Colchester Fire Department remained on scene until Green Mountain Power secured the scene.
Colchester Point Road was closed while utility crews worked to restore power and repair infrastructure.
