WAITSFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – The Inn at Round Barn Farm hosted its second annual Mother’s Day tea time this year after a successful debut last year.
The Waitsfield inn hosts weddings and events in the summer. One of the cooks came up with the idea to host a tea time in the slower seasons. The first tea time was held on Mother’s Day last year. The inn has since hosted several tea sittings throughout the year.
Ashley Woods, a cook at the inn, said the event has been a hit both years on Mother’s Day. She said this year was less chaotic now that staff know what the event entails.
“It is a different alternative activity and in Vermont there’s not always a ton of great options so I put it out there it sold out in a couple of days, next year we might move it to the barn and blow it out and have even more people,” Woods said.
The inn is planning to host more tea events this summer. Those events will be a more casual setting where people can drop in and sip tea in the back garden space.
