Concord, N.H. (WCAX) – The New Hampshire DMV is warning residents about a scam.
The department has received reports of text messages appearing to be from an official New Hampshire state email address asking you for more information.
The message claims the recipient’s profile isn’t complete and says to follow the link to updatestate’s contact details.
The link leads to a page with the state’s official logo asking for your name and state ID number.
The page and message are both fake.
The DMV says they will never request personal information by text.
