BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A car drove into an apartment building in Burlington today, the Burlington Fire Department said. It happened about 11:30 a.m. on Elmwood Avenue. While crews were on the way, the driver backed out of the building and got out, leaving behind a damaged first floor and concerns about structural stability.
No one was injured, including the driver, but one person in the building is displaced because of the damage.
Firefighters on scene built temporary structures, making it safe for people living in the unaffected units to return.
