MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermonters may receive money in the mail from the state this holiday season as part of Vermont’s unclaimed property program.
More than $150,000 will go out to 1,000 Vermonters. Claims range from $100 to $250.
The program is an annual effort from the Vermont Treasurer’s Office and the Scott administration to return unclaimed property to Vermonters.
Vermonters included in the MoneyBack program will get a letter from the state
alerting them to the amount they will receive. A few days later, they will receive a check in the mail for their unclaimed property.
