MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) -The executive director of a Vermont nonprofit faces charges for embezzlement.
According to the Montpelier Police Department, Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation reported their executive director, 42-year-old Melissa Bounty of Waitsfield for using company funds for personal gain.
Montpelier Police Department’s investigation found that Bounty had embezzled over 71 thousand dollars from CVEDC from 2022 to 2025.
Bounty is set to appear in Washington County Superior Court for charges of felony embezzlement on January 15.
