LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – A Lebanon police officer helped release a red-tailed hawk back into the wild after the bird recovered from injuries sustained in a car collision.
The hawk hit a car’s windshield on Interstate 89 last month, according to police. Officer Samuel McClory found the red-tailed hawk with a broken leg and brought it to the Vermont Institute of Natural Science in Quechee for treatment.
After nursing it back to health, McClory helped release the hawk back into the wild on Tuesday morning.
