Stories from Vermont Migrant Workers

February 18, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Much of the work on Vermont dairy farms is done by people from Latin America. Over a thousand migrant laborers milk cows, fix tractors, shovel manure, and take care of calves in our state. Come listen to their stories and learn.

February 18, 2023

Bixby Hall

A panel of three migrant workers will share their personal experiences crossing into the US and traveling to Vermont from a small town in Oaxaca, Mexico. The panel discussion will be moderated by Patricia Reid (local advocate) and Julia Doucet  (Open Door Clinic).

The first 20 attendees will receive a free copy of the Vermont Reads 2022 book, The Most Costly Journey, a graphic novel illustrating migrant worker stories.
