Middlebury scored 4:12 into Friday’s first period and added an empty-net tally late in the final stanza, earning a 2-0 road victory over Connecticut College (4-12-1, 0-10-1) in Dayton Arena. Middlebury (8-8-1, 5-5-1) remains on the road for a 4:00 p.m. Saturday league contest at Tufts.

The Panthers got on the board first with 4:12 elapsed in the opening period when Spencer Cage scored his second goal of the year on an assist from Mitchell Allen. Cage collected Allen’s initial shot and backhanded the puck past Conn. College netminder Connor Rodericks.
